February means love is in the air and we love hosting events for our residents!
We started the month with a chocolate making class at The Century. We had Chef Michael D. Poole from Hot Chocolat here in Seattle bring his chocolate making class right to our residents.
We learned the art of making artisan, hand-crafted French chocolates - from tempering chocolate, pouring the molds and hand-painting our own chocolates.
We made ganache and molded chocolates.
Our creations didn't last long as eating them was the best part, but now we have the skills to make them on our own!
In case our residents still didn't get their fill of chocolate, we had a chocolate tasting the next week, but this time we also had wine.
Local winery, Aluel Cellars and local artisanal chocolate company, Intrigue Chocolate Co. joined us at The Century to share their delicious wines and chocolates with our residents.
It was quite the treat and a lovely evening spent with neighbors.
